To forbidd any service, product in the EU, that requires absolutely ios or android/AOSP compatible-systems



Since several years, we see more and more often that various online (or not online, eg transports) services or products **requires** as an absolute and mandatory step, to use a smartphone or device, running ios from Apple, or Android/AOSP from Google, to be used.


We think this is a very bad way to do, at least to force customers to go only on a mobile app.


We have multiple reasons to think it's a real scandalous way of working :

-it requires the user to own absolutely an account at Google/Apple

-Apple and  GOogle have the full control of ios, android/AOSP future, on both system plus appstores

-it makes EU more and more dependent of USA or other extra-EU country

-it participates to the "replace website by mobile app" for anything, so in fifteen years Gafam would be an absolute requirement for any process (which is catastrophic)

-it kills any encouragement to create alternatives to apps



The main problem of Apps, is the fragility of smartphones :

1. if anything happens to your device :

-hardware : lost, stolen, destroyed, forgotten ← your practical life is in pause

-software : bugged system, virus, spyware, not up to date

also if your battery is flat, usb port is destroyed,

2. TOmorrow, they upgrade their app. They disable your old version. Here is what you have :

"This app is not compatible with your device".



In addition of that, it costs you :

a smartphone. A good one is not less than 800EUR. Plus the subscription to it. Count it per year.

Then, you install the app, they delete the customer webinterface (hello bforbank)

This makes them less work to do (only mobile app to maintain), but not prices cheaper for you


Mobile app → 100% benefit for public and private organisations. 0% for customers on long term (10+ years)


Please notice, banks are asked to use as possible latest versions of mobile operating systems. Your manufacturer wont let you get latest updates, manufacturers prefers you buy them a new device, instead them to invest on upgrade for your device. Money money.


In consequence, we ask to the European Union to make illegal any services, online on In Real Life (eg transports), that requires absolutely an ios, android, AOSP -based app, to make us dependent of such mobile operating systems.


We want any service available in the EU, to be usable via a web browser, eg Firefox or via classic way (no screen).


Especially for :

-banking (2FA, DSP2,3)

-KYC (know your customer) verification by selfie (scandalous)


are both very finger-pointed out by hundred of customers who are very upset to "do that on smartphone instead of computer".


Sign this petition if you want to make the European Union make illegal a service that forces usage of ios-android-aosp. In any sort of private, commercial or public service.
