To forbidd product or services based on ios or android-based systems exclusively, in the EU


This petition calls to make illegal any product or service proposed within the EU, to be used only with a Android/AOSP-based or any iOS system.

We find very disturbing that since few years, most and most products and services tries to force lot of customers, citizen, to use their smartphone, without letting them the choice.

Android/AOSP is Google-dependent. iOS is Apple-dependent. We think every service or product solt in European Union might be usable without those two mobile systems. It creates a dependence of ios/android that might increase with the time.



Are targeted :

-banks

-ID verification

-embedded devices (drones, cameras, entry pass)

-transportation (airplane boarding, bike rentals, care sharing services)

-any others products or service forcing customers to use ios/android app


Reasons :
- hardware : those systems are very sensitive (battery, usb port, screen, etc) and can be easily unavailable

- software : those system can be very slow, bug, and lack of update can expose them to serious cyber threats. And users are forced to upgrade at their own charge.

- economy : those companies costs their cuts using mobile apps, and those devices are expensive to customers, in addition to the mobile access subscription fee.

-patriotism : iOS and Android are from USA, it's maybe time to think about being USA-independent somewhere.

-technical : Practical process must be possible on a standard modern web browser, such as Firefox and competitors : not only by "please install this app, you have no choice", no, my web browser works very well, thanks to Tim Berners Lee. Or process on paper. It's not that bad, to do not use screen for a product or service.

-commercial : in addition to facilitate seller's life and complicate your, usage of Android/AOSP and iOS forces you to have a apple/google account on those devices : what about to stop increase their growth?

- ethical : internet and web usages are supposed to be standards. Proprietary apps forces us to use devices with only two operating systems, non is from EU.
